16 3. Following the explosion if you are trapped in debris: * Use a flashlight if available. * Remain where you are so you don’t kick up dust. Cover your mouth with a handkerchief or clothing. * Tap on a pipe or wall so that rescuers will be able to locate you. Use a whistle if available. Shout only as a last resort. Shouting can cause a person to inhale dangerous amounts of dust * DO NOT attempt to rescue people who are inside a collapse building. Trained emergency personnel will perform the rescues. Chemical and/or biological agents: * Definitions: A. Chemical Agents - Poisonous gases, liquids, or solids that have toxic effects on people, animals, or plants. B. Biological Agents - Organisms or toxins that have illness-producing effects on people levestock, and crops. * In the event of a chemical or biological agent attack, agency employees are to strictly follow the instructions of government authorities, for example: whether to seek shelter immediately or to evacuate immediately and where to seek medical attention.
