EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN HIGH RISK EMPLOYEES The Agency shall maintain a list of employee job classifications and specific tasks which might result in a possible exposure and provide appropriate training to such employees. OSHA standards on occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens indicates that the OSHA standards will apply to ALL patient care employees and to any non-patient care employee who may handle any body fluid such as transporting lab specimens to a laboratory or disposing of items contaminated with body fluids, such as sharps containers and other hazardous waste brought back to the Agency, or employees responsible for cleaning the areas that contaminated items may contact. The following employees have been identified as having responsibilities or as performing procedures which place them at risk of exposure to bloodbourne pathogens: Registered Nurse Licensed Practical Nurse Intravenous Therapy Nurse Oncology/Hospice Nurse Pediatric Nurse Registered Physical Therapist Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant Occupational Therapist Occupational Therapy Assistant Speech Pathologist/Therapist Respiratory Therapist Home Health Aide Nursing Assistant Homemaker/Sitter/Companion _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________
