As the air is slowly released, listen for the regular continued beats. 15. Record the numerical point at which the sound ceases. 16. Deflate cuff completely and remove from the patient's arm. 17. Record results. If the reading is questioned or abnormal for the patient, verify the reading by repeating about 5-10 minutes later. DOCUMENTATION: Document the completed results in the patient’s clinical record. Document patient’s position at the time readings were taken. If further action is indicated, document follow-up/notification of supervisor and/or physician. ____________________________________________________
