MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. 88 OVERBED CRADLE PURPOSE: An overbed cradle is requisitioned from a durable medical supplier in accordance with physician's orders to relieve the patient from the weight of bed linens. RESPONSIBLE PERSONNEL: All Staff EQUIPMENT: Bed cradle PROCEDURE: 1. Explain rationale for use of bed cradle to patient and family 2. Screen patient. 3. Fan fold cover sheet of bedding to bottom of bed. Avoid undue exposure. 4. Place cradle over desired area. 5. Replace bed covers over the bed cradle. DOCUMENTATION: Document in patient's clinical record the use of bed cradle, the date initiated and any pertinent observations. ____________________________________________________
