MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS POLICY: To address how our Agency collects, protects, shares, and retains information in accordance with local, state, and federal law and regulation. The Agency recognizes the importance of an effective, economical information system which is appropriately planned, designed and operated to meet the Agency's changing internal and external needs. This system considers the Agency's mission, goals, service needs, delivery settings and budgeted resources in the original design and will make available resources to implement changes and modifications as Agency needs indicate. The Agency's personnel have access to a reference library appropriate to the level of services provided. Our Personnel have available reference books, journals, internet access, etc. appropriate for the patient population served. Resources include, but are not limited to: • Professional journals, Manuals, Protocols, Orientation booklets • General clinical references, Policy & Clinical Procedures • Drug reference books • Clinical guidelines • Current medical dictionary, Code book • Current statues and rules for federal and state regulations The system addresses but is not limited to the following types of information: 1. billing information and financial report systems 2. clinical data collections 3. clinical records and clinical documentation 4. educational and other staff records 5. clinical and management information of current resources for use in designing, managing and improving patient/client specific or organizational specific processes 6. reference and research data and comparative and reference data base systems of information 7. community services and health care resources including how to access these resources 8. health resource library for use by staff, other health care customers and the public. The library includes current clinical and trade association literature, periodicals, current research information, other health literature, to support the educational activities for staff, patient/client and community information needs Home Health Agency Policies A-97
