MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. ETHICS POLICY About MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. Our home care program offers a range of services for the elderly and physically and challenged patients. We offer nursing, therapy, and rehabilitative services. These services are designed to complement the care you receive from family, friends, and other community services. Your doctor and your community care coordinator consult with you to get you the services you need. Our goals are to: * Help restore your independence * Prevent further disability * Enable early discharge from hospital * Help you continue to live in your home or community. We also provide special care to adjust to your personal situation. About our Committee Home Care Ethics Committee was formed at the time of the Agency initial corporation setup. The Committee is made up of a group of healthcare professionals from across all Home Care Programs. We may include: * Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager, Administrator * Nurses, field staff * Community Care Coordinators/liaison (if available) * Social Workers (if available) The Current role and mandate of the Home Care Ethics Committee is threefold: * Provide education to staff and patients concerning ethical issues, and how report a concern. * Providing ethical review of policy * Offers case consultation to healthcare staff, patients and families surrounding complex and difficult decisions. To Report an Ethical Concern: - Patient: Instructed at Admission/SOC of our Ethic issues procedures, and their rights to report any concern - Staff: Trained annually about Ethic Manners and their responsibilities to report any Ethical Concern without consequences or discrimination immediately to their respective supervisor, who will conduct an established investigation procedure as usual in any Regular Complaint/Grievance issue.
