Patients/clients are informed in writing of the Agency’s nondiscrimination policy during their initial assessment visit along with information concerning rights and responsibilities. The Agency has available registered and licensed practical/vocational nurses, speech therapists and occupational therapists who are, by virtue of their profession, trained to deal effectively with individuals of limited communication abilities. These staff members, by suing repetitive verbal reinforcement, visual props, pantomime or sign language are normally able to adequately communicate the Agency’s policy to clients being served. D. Minority and handicapped groups, along with referral sources, are normally informed of the Agency’s nondiscrimination policy through membership and/or attendance at Board of Director meetings. In addition, the Agency maintains ongoing contact and communication with various community service organizations. We are in compliance with all laws and regulations including but not limited to: • Local and state licensure • The Americans with Disabilities Act • Equal Employment Opportunities Act • Fair Labor Standards Act • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 • Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) • Medicare regulations • Medicaid regulations • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) • US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), if applicable • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), if applicable • Home Health agencies policies and procedures • Accreditation body policies and procedures • Other laws and regulations as applicable to t he care/service provided by our Agency Home Health Agency Policies A-3
