MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. BOARD OF DIRECTORS ORIENTATION PURPOSE: To acquaint Board members with the philosophy, services, goals and financial structure of the Agency. To orient Board members to their respective roles and responsibilities. POLICY: PHILOSOPHY · An orientation program is provided for all new Board members. The Board Vice-Chair and President are responsible for all the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the orientation program. · There are both formal and informal periods of orientation. The formal orientation includes sessions with members of the Board Executive Committee and staff; informal orientation includes learning experiences throughmeetings. All Boardmembers are encouraged to visit the organization during regular business hours to learn the operations of the agency and to accompany staff on a home visit if the patient gives his/her permission.
