MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES PURPOSE: To outline those processes of planning and decision making in which collaboration is required among leaders and other representatives from the organization. POLICY: · A regular, systematic evaluation of all aspects of the agency provides the basis for future planning. · The planning process identifies and incorporates the following factors: Patient needs and expectations Staff needs and expectations Resources to provide and support agency services Recruitment, retention, orientation and continuing education needs of staff Performance improvement (QAPI) priorities and data needed to measure the processes and outcomes of care and services · The agency identifies and quantifies potential financial and operational risks in order to provide reasonable assurance that it can accomplish its mission/purpose: Adequate insurance coverage is maintained for loss due to professional liability, product liability, fire, casualty, theft or work-related injuries. General liability - $ 250,000 Malpractice - $ 250,000 Workers’ Compensation – statutory requirements Property and casualty – to cover asset value Fidelity bonds – to cover liquid assets Directors and officers liability - $250,000 (may be part of insurance coverage) Risk management strategies are employed to identify and monitor potential areas of liability, including the following occurrences: Unusual occurrences/sentinel events Consumer/patient complaints Employee grievances Workplace/safety violations · The administration and the supervisors collaborate to ensure that the following are provided: · Organization-wide care programs, policies and procedures that describe how patients’ care needs are assessed and met: The agency develops, maintains or changes services as indicated by the planning and evaluation process. The marketing plan supports the strategic plan and are consistent with the agency mission/purpose. An effective, continuous program to measure, assesses and improves performance.
