MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. PLANNING PROCESSES MARKETING PLAN/STRATEGIC PLAN PURPOSE: To delineate the various planning processes utilized within the organization. To specify the role and responsibilities of the Strategic Planning and staff. GENERAL STATEMENT: The agency functions with two (2) integrated plans: a strategic plan and an operational plan. The strategic plan is a plan for the future and how the agency plans to grow or change in the future. The operational plan is a plan for the current fiscal year and incorporates the strategic plan in the appropriate year. The Strategic Planning Committee, composed of representatives of the Board of Directors and senior management staff, is responsible for the oversight and development of the plans. This committee reports to the Board of Directors. POLICY: STRATEGIC PLAN · A written strategic plan is developed, reviewed, or revised at least annually · The planning process includes the following processes: Development of strategic goals based on the organization’s philosophy/mission and purpose. Planning according to an external environmental assessment and an internal organizational evaluation. The plan may include a periodic assessment of the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and potential external impacts (such as client demographic data, payer mix, consumer needs, and competition including market share and competitor analysis) Identification of market segments or populations in need of services and/or products Identification of strategies for achieving goals Time frame for accomplishing goals Identification of responsibilities for implementation. · Financial Considerations include the following: Development of costs and funding Projected Profitability Expected financial impact on the organization MARKETING PLAN: A marketing plan is developed that supports the agency’s strategic plan. The marketing plan is consistent with the organization’s purpose. 1. Must identify priorities and a reasonable timetable. 2. Must stay within established timetable. 3. Must be Reviewed and evaluated-updated on an established basis. 4. Prohibit any kind of kick back, gift to Referral sources, clients. 5. Delivery copy of our Referral Procedure and instruction to all potential referral sources, including telephoning and our availability of 24 hours services, On-call program, reflected in our advertising materials. 6. All marketing material including, but not limited to Agency’s Brochures, Flyers, Advertising folders, Business Cards, etc must include Agency’s State License number.
