POLICY ON HOME HEALTH AIDE/CNA SUPERVISION It is the policy of our Agency that a Registered Nurse/RPT shall provide direct supervision as necessary to a Home Health Aide/CNA and be readily available at other times by telephone. The supervisor shall be constantly evaluating (to follow our Quality Assurance program), the Home Health Aide/CNA in terms ofthe Aide's abilityto carryour assigned duties, to relate well to the patient, and to work effectively as a member of the health care team. Our Agency shall to obtain the patient/caregiver’s verbal permission to send a RN or RPT into the home to conduct a supervisory visits to Home Health Aide/CNA employee. The Registered Nurse or other appointed skilled professional shall make a supervisory visit to the patient's residence at least every t wo weeks (for Medicaid-Medicare patients receiving skilled services), either when the Aide is presen t to observe and assist, or when the Aide is absent. One every 60 days, or as Pat ient’s request for waiver, Home Health Aide without Skilled Services, or Private Insurance’s Patients, in order to assess relationships and determine whether goals are being met. 38
