MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. CONTRACTOR BACK-UP SERVICES (Contingency) Policy This Home Health Care agency's patients are given replacement of contract staff members whenever assigned contract staff are not able to report for the scheduled work assignment. Purpose 1. To ensure that the patients receive scheduled and necessary home healthcare services. 2. To provide replacement home health contract staff members for patients according to established priority staffing criteria. Procedure 1. The Home Health Care agency will adopt and implement this policy by having a written letter form the Contractor stabling that these services will be rendered as back-up services. The contract or contingency staff will be in placement within 1 business day after the need of their service are established. 2. A written statement of this back-up service will be done by the Contractor and filed with their contract. 3. All contract employees will be oriented to agency policy and procedures. 4. If the clients designee has agreed to provide back-up services, the agency will have the designee sign a written agreement to be the backup service provider. 5. The agency will keep the agreement in the clients file. 6. The agency will not coerce a client to accept backup services. Home Health Agency. - - Personnel/Operations Policies B-89
