MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. BED SIDERAIL POLICY To Those Patients Who Require Bed Siderails: To ensure your safety, MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. has adopted the following policies: 1. At the hour of sleep, your bed will be placed in the low position, and your siderails will be place in the up (raised) position. The only exceptions will be for medical reasons. 2. In certain situations, your siderails will be maintained in the up position at all times. This will depend upon your condition and the medications or treatments you receive. You are requested to cooperate with the nurse when your bed is lowered and your siderails are raised. For your own safety, you should not attempt to raise or lower a siderail, and you should never attempt to get out of bed when your siderails are up. If you need to get out of bed, you are requested to call the nurse, who will lower the siderails and assist you. Thank you. I have read the above policies and I understand them.
