MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. HOMEMAKER Title: Homemaker. Qualifications: Must have at least 16 hours of training in human development, interpersonal relationships, nutrition, marketing, food storage, use of equipment, use of supplies, planning and organizing of household tasks, and principles of cleanliness and safety. Lines of authority and reporting responsibilities: Report to the Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager/Nurse Supervisor, Administrator. Duties: Homemaker will be responsible for the following: 1. Maintaining the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety depending on family/patient resources. 2. Performing the functions generally undertaken by the customary homemaker, including such duties as: Preparing meals Doing the laundry. Doing the shopping, household chores. Taking care of children. 3. Perform casual, cosmetic assistance, such as brushing the client’s hair and assisting with make-up, filing and polishing nails but not clipping nails. 4. Stabilize the client when walking, as needed, by holding the client’s arm, or hand 5. Reporting to the appropriate supervisor (Nursing Director or other designated RN) any incidents or problems related to her work or to the family. 6. Report any unusual incidents or changes in the patient’s behavior to the case manager 7. The Homemaker, while at work, will maintain appropriate work records. 8. If requested by the client or his responsible party, the homemaker may verbally remind the client that it is time to for the client to take his or her medicine.” Homemakers shall not perform any hands-on personal care services, also is restricted/limited activities within the scope of services. Ensure HIPAA guidelines and procedures are maintained. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to speak, read and write in English, able read assignments, follow directions, able to communicate and respond clearly on telephone and respond to patient’s spoken needs, able to spend 80% of the work standing and/or moving about, able to walk, climb stairs, stoop, twist, bend and squat to perform essential job functions. This Job Classification will have a Potential risk for Occupational Exposure to Blood and other Potential Infections body fluids, protective equipment will be provided by our Agency to limit the exposure and will promote self protection practices in the delivery of the Home Health Care, to provide appropriate treatment to home health care workers in the event of exposure incident and to promote compliance with the universal precautions.
